At the beginning of each semester, GEM runs a recruiting process to identify future leaders of the organization. We will always emphasize that no prior investing experience is required, only an interest in the financial field. We hope to receive your applications soon!
Founders Initiative
The Founders Initiative is how GEM democratizes financial education across multiple universities. This GEM educational program is a 10-week program introducing potential GEM chapter founders to the foundations for valuing a business. Through various reading materials, GEM chapter founders will learn about the qualitative and quantitative aspects of valuing a business. Potential founders will apply their lessons from the program to evaluate public companies through industry & company reports, SEC filings, and guidance from their mentor. Key concepts covered include:
Financial Statement Statement Analysis
Industry Analysis
Thesis Generation
Discounted Cash Flow and Comparable Company Analysis
This training will culminate with a stock pitch presented to the program mentor. Afterward, selected chapter founders will be trained on recruiting and on how to build the organization in their university.
Analyst Training Program
The Analyst Training Program is a 10-Week mentorship initiative to train curious students on the foundations for valuation. The trainees will apply their lessons from the program to evaluate public companies through industry & company reports, SEC filings, and guidance from their mentor. Key concepts covered include:
